2009

Home Furniture Plus Bedding opened their second location in Baton Rouge, offering quality mattresses and home furniture. In 2019, this location was moved to a newly constructed showroom just off Siegen Lane at 11136 Julia Aubin Drive. The 28,000 square foot store offers the Baton Rouge market a second option to shop and experience all that Home Furniture Plus Bedding has to offer.

2007

Nederland, Texas became the home to our second location in the Beaumont/Port Arthur market. Located at 2330 Highway 365, our Nederland Home Furniture Plus Bedding store offers a huge selection top brand mattresses, living room furniture, dining table sets, bedroom furniture and home furniture accents.

2006

One of our largest retail stores opened in 2006 at 5700 Johnston Street, in Lafayette, Louisiana. This spacious location is conveniently located for our customers throughout the Acadiana area.

2006

The need for an efficient way to distribute inventory to our growing chain of retail stores was filled with the opening of the Home Furniture Distribution Center and Corporate Office in 2006. Located in Lafayette, Louisiana, at 909 West Pont Des Mouton Road, the Distribution Center has over 400,000 square feet of warehouse space. 

2000

The opportunity to grow and expand our services across South Louisiana came in 2000 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our 8440 Airline Highway store is one of our largest retail locations.  Also, this location offers our customers in the Baton Rouge and surrounding area a huge selection of discounted items in their Furniture and Mattress Clearance Center.

1996

As Home Furniture Company began to grow, the Beaumont/Port Arthur market became the next expansion location. This beautiful and spacious showroom was completed in 1996 at 2525 12th Street and is one of the most popular furniture and mattress stores in Southeast Texas.

1976

Home Furniture Plus Bedding's current Lake Charles retail store and accounting office located at 1314 Ryan Street. This location has seen tremendous success since its opening in 1976. In 2020, the Lake Charles area experienced 2 back-to-back devastating Hurricanes that affected the entire city and many neighboring communities. This location was not spared the brutal destruction from these storms, and the store and accounting offices received substantial damage. After a quick rebuild of our accounting offices and a brand-new showroom, a Grand Re-Opening celebration took place in November of 2020. 

1975

New Iberia was one of the earliest expansion markets Home Furniture Company invested in. Our New Iberia store is located at 406 Jefferson Terrace Boulevard.  Customers from all over Iberia Parish and the surrounding southern Louisiana parishes are served through this location.

1974

The original Lafayette location on Jefferson Street was opened in 1972. Today, our north Lafayette retail store is located at 1351 Surrey Street. One of our oldest locations, this location completed renovation in fall of 2021. 

1945

The original Home Furniture store was located at 1417 Ryan Street and was owned and operated by Mr. George P. Fleming in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This was the start of what is now a Top 100 Furniture Store in America.

Home Furniture Plus Bedding was founded in 1945 when George P. Fleming seized the opportunity to start his business in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Several years later, Mr. Fleming’s son, George E. (Ged) Fleming, joined his team and shared in his vision to offer quality products with a clear focus on customer service. The young entrepreneur, Ged Fleming, expanded on the vision his father created and in 1972, opened his first Home Furniture store in Lafayette, Louisiana. Ged Fleming went on to open several more retail locations in the Lafayette area before eventually expanding his scope to Texas in 1996 with a store in Beaumont. Home Furniture Plus Bedding has expanded in incredible ways over the years. The heart of the company, however, remains with the customer.
